Karatara

Karatara is a small rural 'dorpie' just inland between Sedgefield and Knysna. Its original inhabitants were the Wood Cutters (As described in the fantastic novels by Daleen Mathea) - many of their descendants remain. The town, for me, is a place of forgotten people and a testament to their strength. The houses are all in essence the same, but human spirit - even in these downtrodden folk shines through, and each home together with its owner or inhabitant

High School Recycling

These images were taken at a high school fashion show - the theme of the event was 'recycling.' The event brought back to me just how feverishly awkward and disjointed I was as a teen in high school, and these images resulted... also awkward and somehow unfinished but kind of compelling and fresh at the same time...
